Return of Valencia (fangirling?)

So, I haven’t been posting all that much about Valencia but I’m gradually getting back to it and I’m in the process of reading the Offside and (forgive me for this) Goal.com. Soon it’ll be back to fully fledged Los Che maniac.

From what I can gather, during my absence, the Unai/Vicente thing has started up again. Some would argue did it ever go away but seriously, let him play. I’ve done all this before. I’ve said it till I was blue in the face but the message just doesn’t seem to be getting through. Even with the plan to fix the team, I must have mentioned it four or five times but obviously I have no power over that.

Let him play, then maybe he’ll be match fit and less prone to injuries.

So, what did I miss?

Valencia’s Big Sale

March 6, 2009 at 1:40 pm (Amunt Valencia :D, Warning: Not The Technicalities) (, , )

Sad days at the Mestalla means that the clearout I was dreading may well be taking place this summer. The first of the big names to be offloaded will probably be Silva and I think he’s headed for Juventus. Bye bye little tempermental one. But what of the other David? Hmm?? If Valencia still want to be in existance by next season and still have hope of retaining a Champions League spot then that’s a no go zone.

Things are getting worse by the day and I seriously think I’m going mad. I seriously thought that if by some miraculous fault, I was to win the Euromillions tonight (£85 million?!) I’d give about £15 million to them just to make sure the players are paid before the weekend. Isn’t that mad? Usually I’d think about buying whole shopping centres, mansions in the South of France or something but no, charity came first? *checks temperature* Anyway, my family would probably have something to say if I was to win the jackpot and shove £15 million to Valencia. I’d write a little note.

Dear Mr Soriano/Soler/whoever the hell is incharge

Seeing as none of the board seem to have any cash, I’m writing to let you know there is some little hope in the shape of me. I am an 18 year old from England who supports the club and has just landed £85 million on the Euromillions (bet you’re all on some lottery sydicate today).

As I am a girl, I would have thought the first thing I would do with such cash is get on a plane to Paris and kill myself shopping in the Champs Elysees but no it isn’t. Hence this note. Either through clinical madness or hope, I am prepared to offer you £15 million but I have no idea what that is in Euros as I only managed to scrape a C at GCSE Maths.

The £15 million I’m hoping will go towards paying the players and not the stadium. I know that Nou Mestalla needs to be finished but I’m more concerned about goings on on the pitch than off it. But then why on earth would I part with money you ask? Well, I have hope that if something is sorted out off the pitch (wages) then the players will be able to open a bank statement for the first time in weeks and see the balance has gone up and thus, they will play proper football like they used to until you lot managed to land in a hell of a mess.

I mean, who couldn’t be arsed? I mean who the hell wasn’t looking at the bank statements???? Senor Soriano didn’t even see Miguel Zorio’s resignation until it was too late so on that evidence I hold Soriano responsible. Procrastination and running one of the biggest football clubs in the world don’t go hand in hand so I’d be awfully happy that in future (let’s face it it probably will happen again in this decade, its a been there done that situation) if you could act on situations as soon as they arise and not wait until the club is on the verge of bankruptcy?

In recent months, there’s been an influx of reports that such and such a body are being offloaded to help the club. If you don’t have players anymore, well, how in God’s name do you expect to function as a football club? Send the board out to play Barca???? Oh no, you probably can’t because they’re all jumping like rats off a sinking ship. How or rather WHERE are you going to find a good portion of 800million Euros? I know you’re renting out the stadium but at the same time you wanted to sell the land! Who comes up with these? Mickey Bricks off Hustle? Get players day jobs when they’re not training. Simple. They make an honest living in Valencia city centre with the rest of them until this blows over because I’m hopeful like that.

I am hoping that my generous (I mean it, my family don’t know about this yet) donation to your helpless cause kicks your arses into gear and you start looking for legitimate ways out. If I were you, I’d put the DVDs of Only Fools and Horses away and start drawing up serious schemes to get this club out of the mess its in.

Yours Sincerely/Hopefully

Sarah

And then I would attach the cheque with a big A3 piece of paper saying:

FOR THE PLAYERS BECAUSE LORD KNOWS YOU LOT BEHIND THE SCENES ARE NOT WORTHY.

Then I would have a tiny little share in the club, I’d be at shareholders meetings, I’d probably be part of the board and then everything would have to be run past me first ;)
